DTF Transfers Q and A

To produce DTF transfers we use specialist ink with a large format CMYK printer. We print directly onto a coated material PET film. Once printed the transfer is coated in a special adhesive powder, so it will adhere to any garment. The adhesive is then cured in a dryer to bond the adhesive to the DTF transfer and it is then ready to go. The transfer can then be applied to any garment with a heat press and also no pre-treatment is required.

Yes! We only charge per linear metre. We do not charge extra if the artwork is different on the Gang sheet or it uses a higher amount of ink. We charge a flat rate per metre. Please see our price list on Gang sheet Cost Once your gang sheet has been printed we send out and all you need to do is cut around your designs with scissors and apply with a heat press. Remember, if you have any questions please do get in touch
Our DTF transfer prints use premium inks and are printed for quality not speed. Our printers have been profiled professionally with an ICC profile and spectrophotometer to make sure colours are consistent even when supplied in RGB and CMYK format. If you need Pantone colour matching we use a pantone colour bridge platform to match as close as possible to your required pantone. As pantones are in RGB some may not be possible with a CMYK printer but we can achieve a very close match with our in house technology. All repeat orders placed with us always use the same profiling set-up to make sure all orders for your customers are consistent. Need artwork advise please call or e-mail to discuss.
Yes we do. We have an in house Graphics department and happy to help. Please note we charge for this service as setting up artwork and laying out gang sheets can be very timing consuming. Once completed we will send you copies of your artwork and you have these for future projects. Please see our prices online Artwork set-up Gang sheet Set-Up
Please adhere to the following instructions below and your DTF Transfers will last longer than your garments. Wash DTF Transfers as maximum of 30-40 degrees DO NOT tumble dry or iron directly on the transfers When washing garments we recommend you turn your garments inside out. This will then protect the printed transfer from friction or abrasion with other fabrics during your washing cycle. Please do not use any fabric softeners or chemicals or if required use only a small amount. When airdrying your garments please keep your garments inside out. Direct sunlight can affect the vibrancy of the transfer due to photodegradation
We have found DTF transfers can be stored up to 6 months without any issues. We recommend to store your transfers in room temperature condition's and separate the designs with used printing baking sheets. The DTF will start to sweat when stored and we recommend to use moisture absorbing bags in the storage drawer or area. When storing the colours or quality of the transfer will never be effected - the transfers may be slightly more time consuming when applying and you may have to release when warm or cold. Rather that the fast instant release method.
In house and for our own business we only use PNG files at 300 DPI and print from these files. With PNG files you can guarantee no issues as the artwork has been flattered. With vector files the finished product will be slightly sharper but without the correct export setting problems could occur. We do accept all vector files. But please make sure your files are print ready as we cannot be held responsible for any changes or issues occur. We accept EPS, Ai, PSD, CDR, PDF files. Please note we do accept SVG files but we cannot guarantee the finished product will have the correct colours as the export setting are very detailed and need to be precise.
