🎨 Artwork Guidelines for 9-Colour DTF Printing
To achieve the best print quality, please follow these artwork preparation guidelines carefully before submitting your files.
1. File Formats
✅ Preferred formats: for Vibrant full colour prints
-
.PNG (with transparent background)
-
.AI or PDF (vector or layered files preferred) Please send your files in RGB format to achieve bright colours.
⚠️ Avoid low-resolution JPEGs or screenshots — they cause poor print quality.
2. Resolution
-
Minimum 300 DPI at final print size.
-
Larger or high-detail designs (e.g., photographic prints) can go up to 600 DPI.
-
Avoid scaling up small images — this causes pixilation.
3. Colour Mode for Vibrant Prints
-
Submit artwork in RGB Colour Mode (not CMYK).
-
Our 9-colour printer includes extended colour inks (e.g. CMYK + Red + Green + Blue + Orange ), which provide a wider colour gamut in RGB files.
-
Use sRGB IEC61966-2.1 colour profile if possible.
- Artwork can be submitted in CMYK. The printer uses its 9-colour system to produce exceptionally accurate colour reproduction. Our 9-colour printer achieves far greater colour accuracy in CMYK than a standard DTF printer. Please ensure this printer is always used for any repeat artwork to maintain colour consistency.
4. Backgrounds
-
Artwork should have a transparent background (especially for contour cuts or dark garments).
-
If you want a background printed, include it as part of the design.
- ⚠️ Our 9-colour printer captures far more detail than a standard DTF printer. If the background removal is not done perfectly, your artwork may show a visible outline around the design. We cannot be held responsible for any outlines or imperfections resulting from incomplete background removal.
5. Size & Placement
-
Submit artwork at the exact size you want it printed.
-
If unsure, include a note specifying final print dimensions (e.g., “25 cm wide”).
-
Avoid extra empty canvas space around the design.
6. Fonts & Text
-
Convert all text to outlines (in vector files) or rasterize text layers (in Photoshop).
-
This prevents missing or substituted fonts.
7. Special Effects
-
Avoid drop shadows, glows, or blending modes unless flattened into the artwork — these may not render correctly in RIP software.
-
We can convert drop shadows to half tones if required.
